We meet for the first time as the Richmond Branch of the Women's Equality Party

We start to grow as a branch, holding street stalls and attending local fairs.
We also attend the St Mary's freshers fair and speak at local Brownie groups about the fight for women's suffrage

We stand our first candidate for local election, gaining votes from 18.6% of local residents

We attend party conference, contributing to motions, policies and debates to shape the future of the party and politics.
We have also successfully campaigned for a PSPO (Public Space Protection Order) around our local BPAS clinic, allowing women to access healthcare without harassment

We continue to engage with local, national and global issues, attending pro-choice and the Million Women Rise marches.
We also host incredible speakers at our meetings to raise funds for our election campaigns, including our MP Munira WIlson and speakers from Stop Hate UK

We love canvassing so much we do it again, this time in a bi-election in East Sheen

We hold our first vigil in Twickenham Green to remember the women killed in the UK by male violence. Off the back of Sarah Everard's murder, we come together in fury and resistance to stand for every women who's life is taken and press for systemic change

We just can't stop canvassing, this time for the GLA (Greater London Authority) elections.
We also lead a piece of research on the impact of COVID-19 on childcare provision in the Borough, highlighting the gap between providers, parents and funding.

We are inspired by women's resistance crafts to create our own branch quilt, with wonderful contributions from over a dozen members

We stand not one, but three candidates in the local council elections, increasing our share of the vote to 19.9%

We celebrate International Women's Day by learning about women led businesses in Richmond and getting hands on in the factory

We attend party conference in Sheffield, collaborating with End Sexism in Schools to discuss how we have replicated their research and leading on a party wide conference quilt

We collaborate with local councillors to secure funding for lights across the Twickenham green footpath, making the Borough a safer place at night for local residents.
We also host the only full Borough hustings for the 2024 GLA candidates, where candidates from all parties attended to answer residents' questions.

We are invited as guests on the Women of the World stage in Twickenham as Local Heroes, recognising the efforts of grassroots organisations

Following the dissolution of the Women's Equality Party in December 2024, we reform as the Alliance for Women's Equality so we can continue to build alliances with other organisations campaigning for gender equality and hold our representatives accountable
